I'm still here

So, it's been a while since I've posted a blog in English here, and since my friends in England has been asking for some updates (except the odd Facebook status/picture) I'll give you an update here on my blog. The last post on my blog was in Norwegian, and the translate button is not always very good, so most of the text was not possible to read for English readers.
So here we go:
I've had a fantastic holiday in Norway. My longest summer holiday for years! I was working a bit here and there on different farms, as well as a mountain guide for American tourists in Fresvik. I was hiking a lot and meeting up with friends I hadn't seen for years. The famous Fres Festival was a highlight with a sold out music festival in my home town Fresvik. The same day the festival started I went hiking and fell down a cliff, which ended in a broken tailbone. Not much to do with it, so I carried away and had a fantastic festival experience.

Here we are out studying!

In August I moved to Evenstad (wikipedia) and started a bachelordegree in Wilderness Management. I've settled in excellent in the tiny "town" here. You can not really call it a town, 'cause the only people here are a few farmers and the other students on campus. But it's in beautiful surroundings and next to Norways longest river, Glomma. The subject we learn are very interesting and the students are really cool. I've also started blogging for the school and get some income to blog every second week. In addition to that I'll write an article the weeks I don't blog. This will keep me a bit busy during my spare time in Evenstad.

Hunting in Fresvik
Here at our school we have "hunting-holiday" were we get 5 days during the fall to go home and hunt. A lot of the teachers and students hunt, so this is a little something the school has arranged for all of us. It's awesome, and I went home in the beggining of September to hunt for deer/elk. I went out every day and really enjoyed the days in the forrest, even though I didn't shoot anything.
When I was home I got to hang with my nephew who is living in Fresvik. We went hiking and spent one night in a tent in the forrest. I got up before him to hunt a few hours.

Hiking up the trail
The video of my nephew when we were hiking last year is now a YouTube hit with 20 000 views (21/9-14)

A little rest
During September month I got contacted by a MTV show called Ridiculousness and they want to air my YouTube video of my nephew. This is really awesome, and now the video is getting really populaer on the internet. 20 000 views in only a few days!

When I was home I also participated in the yearly sheep gathering in the mountains. The whole family (all of us who got the opportunity to do so) hike in the mountains looking for our sheep. This year it was amazing weather and it was pure you to go hiking in the sunshine. We had our two sheep dogs with us and they helped us a lot getting the sheep down from hills.

I'm back from my hunting-holiday and it's time to do some school work again, ofcourse it's not easy and I'm now sitting up at 11:30 PM on a Sunday evening, when I should have prepared for tomorrow (and get some sleep).
As you can see, the school is small, so it's no problem to sit in a group room to do some work or use other facilities. There are a lot of forrest here, which are perfect for running in. The air is fresh, cold and clean. But it is getting colder, since we are so far in the country, and the snow will arrive in maybe 1-2 months. Then I need to go home and get my skis, which I haven't used for years (since I've been living in Zambia and the UK the last 4 winters).
