Finishing my stay in England

After 2 years and 4 months in England I've decided to give rugby a try. I got 5 weeks left of my England stay before I move south (Africa).
Last week I e-mailed the local rugby club (Aylesbury Rugby Football Club) and asked if I could practise with them in the end of their season so I could get to know the rules of rugby. They called me back and said they didn't have any training sessions left, but they got two games left (league games) and asked if I wanted to play. Ofcourse I couldn't let this change slip away, so I said "Yeah! That would be awesome!".
So last weekend I played in Milton Keynes and we won 33-19, and I got to play entire 2nd half as a inside centre. It went really well, and got to start this weekend. This time we played a stronger team and I played as a outside centre. During the warm up it was hailstorm, but it got better, and during the game it was actually sunshine.
Here is a little video from the warm up (GoPro camera on my head strap)

We lost the game, but it was so much fun tackling and running the ball! It makes me miss American Football from my LaCrosse time in 2005/06.

I want to say thank you to Aylesbury Rugby FC for letting me play in their league games. I got so much help from the team mates, and they made me play at my best level of rugby. I will never forget my rugby experience here in Aylesbury, and if I was to stay here for longer, I would have continued to play for them. I've learned so much in 7 days it's just incredible! The players and coaches are great and I would recommend the club for anyone in the area!

First post

This is my first blog! About my travelling in Africa and Norway

30th of May I will be flying to Africa (Cape Town) to work as a volunteer for Marine Dynamics in Gansbaai. The first week and a half I will backpack in Cape Town before working 4 weeks (from 10th og June to 8th of July). This will be work with Marine Dynamics where I'm helping out on shark diving (from cage) and tagging sharks/whales and help sea birds. I am planning to take pictures and record videos so I can post it here on my blog.
After I've been 5-6 weeks in South Africa I will fly to Norway, where I will be in Molde and Fresvik (my home town). Here I will be participating music festivals and meet up with as many friends and family members as possible, but also working.
First week of August will be in Oslo to prepare for the 10 months in Africa (Zambia/Zimbabwe) and get all the information for the studies I have to do while I'm in Africa. Then it's take off to either Zambia or Zimbabwe. I wont know what country I will be living in until later. But I'm very excited

So my summer looks like this:

  • Until 30th of May: work in Aylesbury
  • 30th of May to 8th of July: South Africa (Cape Town and Gansbaai)
  • 9th of July to first week of August: Norway (Molde, Fresvik)
  • First week of August: Oslo, Norway (NIH)
  • Zambia/Zimbabwe!!!
