A May update!

So much has happened in my last month here in England! I want to write a bit about it so my friends and family back in Norway knows what I've been up to lately.

My last post was about my short but very exciting rugby career. Since then I've been busy every weekend, and kept busy with work during my weekdays. It's sad to be leaving all of this, and all the people I've got to know over the past 2 years, but it's also very exciting times ahead.

Here is from one of my tackles in the last game in Reading

The following Thursday my two younger brothers came to visit me for a few days and the weather was amazing, so we spent the entire Friday golfing. Saturday me, my brothers, Steve and Matt (two good friends of mine) went to Northamptonshire to do Tough Mudder, a 12 mile long obstacle course (pretty much) covered in mud. We had a great time and I don't think I will ever forget Matts screaming while he was getting electroshocked.

The weekend after one of my friends from Norway came over to spend a few days here before I move countries, and we had a great time at Hartwell House just outside Aylesbury and at GoApe in Wendover Woods.

May 17th I had organized a dinner party with my clients, beforehand I was a bit nervous since I had planned to say a few words. We met up at the thai restaurant in Aston Clinton. We were 25 of us, and all of us really enjoyed both the dinner and the company. It went really well and we had a great time together. I will never forget my clients, they have truly changed my life for the better, I can't thank them enough!

The very next day I went to Matt (the same Matt who did Tough Mudder) and Danielles wedding. It was a great celebration, and I am happy to experience "my" first wedding. Again, congratulations Matt and Danielle.

The day after, May 19th I went to see Jimmy Carr at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre with Sarah (one of my loyal clients). It was a great laugh and we also got our tickets signed by Mr. Carr himself. I'm a big fan and it's my second time seeing him preform in Aylesbury.

Saturday May 25th I had my last circuit session with Steve, who I've been working out with regularly for over 6 months. We have a lot in common, and I'm going to miss our Saturday sessions in the studio. In the evening me and my house-mates had a barbecue with some friends. I later went to meet up with Matt and Steve. Then headed out to town to meet up with my colleges and house mates.  It was a great night, not much more to say about that.

Monday (bank holiday) on the 27th I went to London to run a 10k charity race. The weather was brilliant and I just made it to the start. Olympic champion from last year, Mo Farah ran in front. The atmosphere was brilliant and about 16000-18000 runners participated. A great day for Londoners. The run started at St. James' Park, through Embankment, by River Themes, Blackfriars, Cannon Street, Monument, Mansion House and back again to St. James Park (Buckingham Palace). I ran for Children, Health and Therapy and at the moment have raised £145.00 Sponsor page at Justgiving.com

Now, just before I leave a lot of my clients get their last chance to say good bye, and some of them really touch my heart, for instance this text I got today: "[...]I can never thank you enough for the fun and support you have given me. I'm so glad on the day I needed a personal trainer it was you.....[...] I needed someone to laugh and joke with that made me enjoy exercise and understand. That I needed fun after a stressful day you were perfect in every way, you have great communication skills and I know that where ever you go in life you will be a positive influence on the people that you meet [...]:) Xxx"
I've read this out loud to both of my house-mates, and it almost make my cry both times. It means so much to me, and it makes me sad that I'm leaving, but I will write this down so I can always look back at it when I'm having a hard time.

And that's what have happened in May so far. It's only 2 days until I fly to Cairo and Cape Town and I'm getting more and more excited, at the same time as I realize that I am actually leaving all my good friends here. It's a lot of good byes but I hope I will meet them again sometime, either in England or Norway (or anywhere else)
