No marathon....

So.... what was not supposed to happened, happened.

My friend in Cape Town, that I was supposed to visit, is moving back to America.
After my last blogpost I did really well for a few days, and then I got sick (a flu) and didn't run for a week. During this week I got the message from my friend in CT. I was gutted, and I must say that visiting her was the main reason to go to SA in April. Now, since she is not going to be there any more I will cancel the run.

My training will now be on football and weights (soccer and gym). And hopefully I will participate in Two Oceans Marathon another time.

Here is a video of what I'm doing at Evenstad these days. Feel free to fast forward to 3:27, thats where the fun part starts ;)

Week 2

8 weeks left
This week has been busy, I've been working and travelling from Sunday to Friday night. Which means I had to try to run early or late in the evening, several times on a treadmill. It started good with 28km on the first two days, but then I ran into a gym and lifting weights was more tempting than running on a treadmill.

My target was 80 km (10 more than last week) but I only managed to do 72 km. One of the days was a rest day, and the 6 others I ran or/and lifted weights.

My legs felt fine and I am going to run further and more often next week. Got quite a few blisters on my left foot but nothing that stopped me from keep on running. My target is 90 km from Saturday to Friday (at the moment I got 31km after two days).

Sunday 1st of February I weighed myself and it showed 85kg, and I can't remember ever beening so light. I'll have to make sure I eat enough and I also don't want to loose any muscle mass, so I'll have to keep up with the resistance training. I'll check my weight again in a couple of weeks.

Still haven't booked my flights, but will do so when I get my paycheck in a few days time.
